Nothing else really.

But here is the short list: Owl City, Clyde Hopkins, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z (just that one song Empire State of Mind), Miley Cyrus (I aint kidding), Susan Boyle, Hurricane Bells, 3 oh! 3, Band of Skulls, Lights, Lady Ga Ga, Bebo Norman, Chris Tomlin, Tenth Ave. North, etc etc etc.
WHAT AM I…down about... Phil John's passing. Real good man! Always enjoyed talking to him.

What Am I..
What Am I…Reading: Green by Ted Dekker – this is book 0 of the Circle Trilogy (actually 4 books) IT is the beginning OR the end. Just started it but I know it will be good. All of his books are good.
I am still reading Anabaptist Preaching – A Conversation Between Pulpit, Pew, and Bible by David B. Greiser and Michael King. This is one of 2 books we were required to read for the Speaking Institute I attended. Awesome Time. I learned a lot. I should have been finished this book long ago, but I am getting there.
What Am I …Listening to: Death Cab For Cutie (what I listened to most today – I bring my mp3 player to work and listen to it some). I heard there 2008 song "Grapevine Fires" on the radio the other day and I liked it. I had heard some of their earlier stuff so I figured I would pull their music out and listen.
I have also been listening to Tenth Avenue North....great new band. See past Blog about one of their songs.....
What Am I …thinking about: as always too much to type OR too private to share!
What Am I …happy about: Madeline gets to go to Family Camp. She is over the Swine Flu.
Plus lots of other things. Boiled Crabs last weekend were awesome!
What Am I…stressing about: the Dodgers. Yes we are 5.5 games up in first place in the N.L. West, but until they mathematically clinch, I will stress. I still feel – despite all of the "experts" discussions that the 2 LA teams will face off in the World Series.
What Am I…watching on TV: America’s Got Talent . I never thought I would like this show, but I must admit it has been pretty good. Can’t wait for Lost – the last season will start sometime in early 2010.
What Am I…watching from NetFlix: We watched Tempted with Burt Reynolds only because some scenes were filmed in Des Allemands and a couple of people we know (names not mentioned for privacy purposes) were extras. The movie was terrible. We did not watch the whole thing, but we FF or Rewound to see the Des Allemands scenes – or I should say SCENE. Trust me, You do not want to watch this movie!
We also watched I’ve Loved You So Long starring Kristen Scott Thomas. It is a powerful Foreign Language film (be ready to read sub-titles). It was great. Trust me, You DO want to watch this movie. We also saw Knowing starring Nicholas Cage. This was a pretty good Sci-Fi flick. Trust me, If you are a Cage fan, you DO want to watch this movie. IF you don't care about Nicholas Cage or just think he is ok, the you might not like the movie. Sometime, to me, the actor actually does make the film Worth watching.
And a final thought………I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and the Herd (with Colin Cowherd) and he was saying that this (this time we are in) is one of the best times of the year for the sports fan.
The Major League Baseball season is winding down – the good teams are vying for the playoffs and Pro and College Football regular season are about to crank up.
I could not agree more!

What Am I...
the quick version
What am I.....
reading: Elyon by Ted Dekker and Kaci Hill (yes - still reading it - it is a great book, but I am reading other things as well)
Anabaptist Preaching - David B. Greiser and Michael A. King
The BIBLE - I am reading it from start to finish, but I am taking my time and actually thinking about what I am reading.
Sad about: The stupid Dodgers - lost 2 in a row since the All Star break
Watching: Frost/Nixon - pretty good so far. I had to do a persuasive speech in college and I chose to try and persuade the class that Richard Nixon was a good president. I actually persuaded many of them. I will try to dig up that speech...it is probably junk.
Listening to: too much to list
eating: Mexican cornbread and lots of it
Thinking about: too much to type
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Walter Cronkite: we really did lose the best news anchor ever.

What am I... Saturday 6-13-09
What am I...
reading: I am still reading Lunatic (it has been a busy week - not much reading time) but I only have about 10 pages left. On deck - Elyon Ted Dekker and Kaci Hill, Boneman's Daughters by Ted, Anabaptist Preaching (part of a speaking class I am taking through Eastern Mennonite University in Lancaster (PA) (AWESOME class), The Little Prince and Medieval Warfare.
watching: We watched Revolutionary Road with the Titanic twins - Kate and Leonardo - it was "ok". That's it. We have been watching DVD's by Jeanne Robertson. This lady is FUNNY and CLEAN. Imagine that. You have to check her out. http://www.jeannerobertson.com/humor_store.htm
listening to: At this Very Moment I am listening to Randy Travis' Glory Train: Songs of Faith, Worship and Praise and Worship and Faith LPs on the Rhapsody. I am not a huge Randy fan but I do like these 2 records. He mixes some good ole' time hymns and worship songs in his Randy Travis way. Really good. Most of the week I have been listening to a MP3 disc in my car with some of my all time favorite records on it (by the way - the research for "wade's top 100" is back on...look for it to hit the blog in a few months). On this mp3, I have records by For Squirrels, Matthew Sweet, REM, The Refreshments, Cranberries, Third Eye Blind...just to name a few.
anxious about: LSU begins play today in the College World Series. Yes, I am nervous. I know what happens will happen, but when I watch LSU sports (especially BIG games) my stomach hurts. They have the best team of the 8, but whoever gets to the CWS deserves it and can win it.
excited about: LSU in the CWS. Also, and I apologise for not mentioning it earlier, 3 blogs that I have linked. If you want some great reading, click on all of the blogs in the upper right of the screen. You won't be disappointed!
sad about: Calvin Borel not winning the Belmont last week, but very happy for Kent Desormeaux.
thinking about: Always thinking about New York City.

What am I...
I will attempt this once a week. Not to copy, but I have seen this on other blogs and I think it is cool. So...
What am I listening to: I am really listening to a lot of stuff, but today I listened the most to 100% Fun by Matthew Sweet and August and Everything After by the Counting Crows. These are two GREAT albums.
What am I pondering: Getting off of my once (sometimes twice) a week diet coke habit and going strictly water (plus my 2 cups of morning coffee).
What am I reading: Lunatic by Ted Dekker and Kaci Hill (almost finished).
What am I thinking about: Hope (not a person)and nature.
What am I worried about: My drivers. We are very slow on the trucking side and they don't get $$ unless they roll.
What am I watching: We just watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Great movie. I may blog about it later.
What am I doing: Typing this......We are going to the Zephyrs game later (AAA baseball) and the band Mini Kiss is playing after. Yes it is a midget Kiss tribute band. Check out this NPR story on them.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5342555
I guess that is it for now.
Not very dramatic.....I know.
