You Tried It Alone

in and out of your stratosphere,
shooting your guns in the air,
trying to reach that higher place,
the bullets fly down all over your place,
racing the train to cross the tracks,
you gotta make your move, can't turn back,
look back once and take the turn,
you're hit so hard you start to burn,
the fire burns in your eyes,
your soul feels that eternal demise,
you struggle to your feet, you start to rise,
your pulled down hard as you reach for the skies.
slowly you realize,
slowly you fall,
all this time you did it alone,
as your body gets hard and you turn to stone.
you realize you lost,
you realize you're done,
the cauldron bells ring,
you lost everything,
your life,
your soul,
you are gone,
in your mortality, you tried it alone ....

What the world sees

There was a man who was bit by a spider.
His name was not Peter.
He had a wife but he could keep her.
He did not like pumpkins or asparagus roasted.
He liked his scrambled egg sandwich with his wheat bread toasted.
He was a man who never ever boasted.
He saw a pigeon fall from the sky.
The branch in it's beak hit him in the eye.
With one eye, he still went on to the show.
He went to see the paintings of Vincent van Gogh.
A giant white goose with a "I love Mom" tattoo followed him into the museum.
The goose holding it's seeing eye glass in it's beak.
The museum had a Thomas Jefferson statue at its entrance.
But the funny thing was ...
The people at the show didn't see the really odd goose waddle by.
All they saw was the man with one eye.
