What am I...

I will attempt this once a week. Not to copy, but I have seen this on other blogs and I think it is cool. So...

What am I listening to: I am really listening to a lot of stuff, but today I listened the most to 100% Fun by Matthew Sweet and August and Everything After by the Counting Crows. These are two GREAT albums.

What am I pondering: Getting off of my once (sometimes twice) a week diet coke habit and going strictly water (plus my 2 cups of morning coffee).

What am I reading: Lunatic by Ted Dekker and Kaci Hill (almost finished).

What am I thinking about: Hope (not a person)and nature.

What am I worried about: My drivers. We are very slow on the trucking side and they don't get $$ unless they roll.

What am I watching: We just watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Great movie. I may blog about it later.

What am I doing: Typing this......We are going to the Zephyrs game later (AAA baseball) and the band Mini Kiss is playing after. Yes it is a midget Kiss tribute band. Check out this NPR story on them.

Hwy 3127 ... revisited

FYI
I drove home via Hwy 3127 yesterday and the median was mowed. All of the buttercups and black eyed susans were pretty much gone. The ditches were trimmed as well, but the cat tails and "blue" flowers were still there.
I know they have to cut the grass, but trust me, with the wild flowers growing, you couldn't see the grass. Hopefully they will grow back.
As I passed one stretch I noticed one black eyed susan that survived the mow. It immediately reminded me of hope.
With all of the goings on in today's world. Like that lone flower, there is always HOPE.

If you are from around the St. Charles Parish (Louisiana) area – or even if you are not – I am sure you have been on LA Highway 3127.
I have been driving up and down that Highway lately and I am amazed at the stunning beauty that God has gifted this stretch of road with.
For those of you who don’t know, this Highway was basically built in the middle of a swamp. Years of expanding and widening may have caused the driver/rider not to even realize this.
But nature, taking its course, is seeing to it that you are privileged with a landscape of not only trees, but also all sorts of wild flowers and plants.
I have no clue what some of these plants are, but they are all pleasant
From the butter cups and black eyed susans in the medians, to the cattails and wild flowers on the sides (not to mention the various birds and critters on the roadsides). Chances are that you will see an alligator or two along the way.
It is worth the drive down Highway 3127, just to see what God has in store.
These pictures are ok, but they really don’t do this area justice. Take a ride for yourself and enjoy.

Crash - No Helmet - Die?

The State of Louisiana is "toying" with the idea (and people's lives) of lifting the Helmet law while riding a motorcycle.
1-I don't ride a motorcycle. I wouldn't mind but I don't have one.
2-My first thought was "Whatever...it should be up to the rider."
3-I quickly changed my mind. WHY?
a-Why mess with a law that pretty much works?
b-The "law" doesn't cost the State anything.
c- Why waste time on it?
d- I've seen some pretty cool helmets.
4- If they lift this law, wait until the first person is killed in a crash where a helmet could have prevented death.
We shall see...

WCC - the new Era of BLOG

Copious Cogitations is dead.......sort of.

I was off of the blogging for a bit. I took a new job and was pretty busy. Then the moment came when it was time for (and I had the time for) more blogging.

I was able to post one or two and then something happened.

I posted this AWESOME blog (you won't know if that is true because it didn't publish) and when I went to publish, the computer blocked it.

Don't worry - there was nothing offensive on it.

I am not sure what happened. I was finally able to delete it and much to my _____________ (fill in your word here), every test blog I tried did the same thing.

So...

I was forced to start a new blog.

I will give blogspot more of my feeble insight.

I did, however, link the old copoiuscogitation blog on this new one so if anyone wants to check out old blogs, you can.

So what has been happening?

Just living, eating and working.

We have been watching some pretty good movies lately.

Doubt with Meryl Streep was good.

The Secret Life of Bees was really good.

A Mighty Heart: we watched this last night. This is the movie based on the story of Daniel Pearl. He was the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered in Karachi, Pakistan in 2002. The movie is definitely a worthy view. I did not realize how strong his wife really was. The movie portrayed her quite well.

Like many movies that move me, A Mighty Heart intrigued me to read more about Daniel Pearl and his wife, Mariane.

I have been reading slow, as usual. But still enjoying what I read. I am currently on a Ted Dekker swing.

I am reading his book Lunatic. Then I will read Elyon ( the 6th book of Dekker's LOST BOOKS series. Then I will read the stand alone thriller Boneman's Daughters. By the time I read those, Dekker's Green (the long awaited 4th CIRCLE TRILOGY book) should be out.

DIVE DEEP!

Look for future blogs: Wade's Top 100 songs of all time. The research on this came to a stand still due to job demands, but I should continue the research soon. Hopefully within 3 months, this long awaited post will come to life.

LOST - I will write about this. Next season will be it's last. More to come on that.

Sports. LSU baseball rolling. The Dodgers rolling without that Manny dude.

I am almost finished Allister Jones. This is a short story with a great message.

Once I am finished I will post in 3 or 4 parts.

I will try to write everyday but won't promise it.

I am not sure if I will fill this blog with many gadgets and such, but I will add some art of the day - like before. What an escape. We shall see.
